A PlantSim

PlantSims are released with The Sims 2: Seasons, they are created by overuse of pesticides on plants or fruit trees. To become a PlantSim takes time, but more trees in the residence help. If a Sim becomes a PlantSim accidentally, contacting a member of the Garden Club may help to restore them back to normal, or a witch may also be able to help.

When a Sim becomes a PlantSim, they can talk to plants (which boosts the plants' health dramatically) and they automatically receive a golden Gardening badge.

History

Although it would seem that the existence of PlantSims is recent because of the relatively recent advent of pesticides, it would appear that there is a natural society of PlantSims living somewhere in the wild. The family album of the Greenman Family implies that Gabe O'Mackey and Jason Greenman went on a hiking trip and discovered this society in the mountains near Riverblossom Hills, where Rose Greenman was discovered.

Needs

PlantSims have only three needs. They require the same needs as all plants.

  • Love - Can be satisfied like social or by talking to plants.
  • Water - Can be satisfied by swimming, drinking water, showering, bathing, splashing in puddles, being in the rain, etc. Toddler PlantSims can also satisfy their water need by drinking from a bottle or eating flowers. A little cannibalistic.
  • Sunlight - Can be satisfied by being in the sun or under a special greenhouse light.

Biology

Due to the need of pesticides to transform, it is safe to infer that the overuse of pesticides genetically alter the Sim in question.

Plantsim toddler.

Because of the Sunlight need, It can be assumed that PlantSims photosynthesize like any other plant.

Life Stages:

PlantSims have only three stages of life:

Reproduction

When a PlantSim wants to have a child, the user need only click on the Sim and select 'Produce Plantbaby' and a PlantSim toddler will appear before them. They produce asexually so they only have one parent unless they have a regular baby with WooHoo.

The new PlantSim will have the same skills and talent badges as the parent. This is useful, because they don't have the Child or Teen years to build the skills. They will also have identical personality points, but a different star sign.

PlantSims may reproduce sexually if desired. In that case, they must WooHoo, and the female PlantSim will get pregnant. Male PlantSims may father other Sim's children and alien children. The naturally produced baby will be a normal Sim, even if both parents are PlantSims.

Spores of Happiness

If there are Sims in the room who need a mood boost, click on a PlantSim and select Spores of Happiness, which will boost the moods of those around them.

Appearance

All PlantSims have a default hairstyle and clothing, so they all look very much alike aside from their facial features, but they may change their clothes and outfit if wanted. Children PlantSims will look like their father, the Ideal plantsim, a hidden NPC.

Becoming a PlantSim

  1. The Natural Way- Purchase many trees and veggie plants (usually around 10), wait for them to all get infested with bugs, and then spray them all at once. (This will not work in a greenhouse.)
  2. The Semi-Cheating Way- Purchase a few veggie plants, initiate the boolprop cheat (control, shift, C, and then boolprop testingcheatsenabled true), and shift click on all the plants and select to infest them with bugs. Have a Sim spray them, then shift click and select to re-infest them again. Keep repeating this process until the Sim becomes a plantsim.
  3. The Cheating Way- Go to www.parsimonious.org, then click on the green chair on the top. After that click on the green "custom content" asterisk, then go to page 4 and download "Plantsim Maker".
