Fame

For fame in other The Sims series titles, see Fame.

Fame is a feature in The Sims 4: Get Famous, in which Sims will gain more renown than others as they gain popularity and become a celebrity. It is functionally similar to celebrity status in The Sims 3: Late Night, and reminiscent of Fame in The Sims: Superstar.

Fame is gained through certain interactions that gains popularity from skills. Sims can also gain fame from working their jobs, specifically Actors. Sims can gain certain perks and quirks to manage as they level up the stars of fame, this can be found in the simology panel under "Public Image" next to reputation.

Celebrities can earn fame perks in order to gain advantages. With fame and reputation they can gain boosts to careers, friends, and royalties.

Gaining Fame

Sims can gain fame through a multitude of ways:

This section is in need of additional information. You can help The Sims Wiki by expanding this section.

Child Celebrities

Children can become celebrities as well, they can achieve fame just like normal teens and adults. Child Sims can inherit a star from being born from celebrity parents as well, and they can even purchase fame perks. Child Sims can gain fame through normal means but also can achieve fame through child-only features, for instance; children can gain fame from being in the drama club.

Children Sims however cannot become a celebrity higher than Rising Star, until they get older.

Celebrity Reputation

Fame and reputation work well on their own but they can also work well together. Celebrities can gain a reputation just like any other Sim and it will even effect their fame a lot more. Gaining a reputation even unlocks extra perks they can unlock in their fame info tab which are only available to those under certain levels of reputation. Their reputation can also benefit their rise to stardom as the perks can allow Sims to gain an even greater amount of fame by committing certain acts in public.

Good Sims can donate to charities and run charity parties in order to gain more fame. Bad Sims can also start feuds and fight enemies to gain their own fame, because any press is good press.

Star Levels

Unknown

Unknown Sims are just like any regular Sims, but every Sim is able to gain fame and become a famous celebrity.

Notable Newcomer

Notable Newcomers are Sims who have one star to their name and are on their rise to stardom, they can't do much; however, they can use their fame point to gain a perk to help gain more fame. But caution; even notable newcomers can be suseptable to fame quirks.

Rising Star

A Rising Star is a Sim who has two stars to their name and has officially entered the spotlight. As a rising star Sims will start noticing them across the street and start of with a higher friendship (if they don't have a bad reputation). Rising stars can also now sign autographs as their introduction, they can now also pose for pictures to their fans. Rising Stars earn two more fame points along with the second row of three perks to select from.

B-Lister

B-Listers are Sims who have three stars to their name and a large following. They can give hugs to fans and even take selfies with them. However, B-Listers are also now being followed by the paparazzi, they will follow and take as many pictures of the celeb as they can; it's up to the celeb to embrace the flashing lights or turn them away.

If fame ever gets overwhelming B-Listers can now wear a "Celebrity Disguise"; this will make paparazzi and fans not recognise them as they're free to walk around as if they're unknown. However, this will stop the Sim from gaining anymore fame while under a disguise.

B-Listers earn two more fame points, unlock the third row of perks, as well as unlocking a second quirk slot.

Proper Celebrity

Proper Celebrities are Sims who have four stars to their name and now have an even larger following. Their presence will cause fans and Sims alike to smile and take notice, proper celebrities can even incite cheers as a self interaction to cause fans to go wild and other Sims to praise the celeb. Proper celebrities can also walk in their own celebrity walkstyle as well as give off a fame shine (both of which can be turned off through self-interaction).

Proper celebrities earn two more fame points and unlock the fourth row of perks.

Global Superstar

Global Superstars are Sims who have five stars to their name and have the largest following a Sim can have. Global superstars have now earned themselves a "Celebrity Tile" which is instantly available in their inventory. With these celebrity tiles Sims can update their inscript so that the global superstar can immortalize their fame and place it among the stars on the walk of fame in Del Sol Valley. For now, this celebrity cannot loose fame past B-Lister and will forever be famous in some way.

Global superstars earn three more fame points, unlock the final fifth row of perks, and have two more fame quirks.

Fame Perks & Quirks

Main article: Fame perk

Celebrities can purchase certain fame perks which will help them in their rise to fame, gain more a following, or gain certain control over the public eye.

Being famous isn't all glitz and glam as celebrities are prone to developing behavioral quirks, these will cause a hindrance to celebrities in their every day life and might even overwhelm them.

Quitting the Spotlight

Sims can always have the option to quit the spotlight and leave all fame behind along with it's added perks & quirks. Sims at any fame level can select "Quit the Spotlight" on the bottom left corner of their fame info tab.

This option will only not be available if the Sim has bought any perks. This can be solved by going to their phone or computer and selecting "Book a Celebrity Cleanse" for §275.
