Fame and reputation work well on their own but they can also work well together. Celebrities can gain a reputation just like any other Sim and it will even effect their fame a lot more. Gaining a reputation even unlocks extra perks they can unlock in their fame info tab which are only available to those under certain levels of reputation. Their reputation can also benefit their rise to stardom as the perks can allow Sims to gain an even greater amount of fame by committing certain acts in public.

Their reputation can also benefit their rise to stardom as the perks can allow Sims to gain an even greater amount of fame by committing certain acts in public.

Good Sims can donate to charities and run charity parties in order to gain more fame. Bad Sims can also start feuds and fight enemies to gain their own fame, because any press is good press.
