Body is a skill in both The Sims and The Sims 2.

The Sims

The Body skill determines the Sim's physical prowess and is useful in some jobs that require needs to being strong such as the military or the law enforcement career. High Body skill also increases your chances of winning a fight, staying on the snowboarding half pipe without falling, and earning points in games found in many vacation spots.

There are a few ways of increasing the skill. Firstly, a Sim can swim, and although there isn't a blue bar to indicate they are gaining Body points, they actually are. Another method is to use the exercise machine. In House Party, the Mechanical Bull is introduced, which also increases your Body skill; the higher it becomes, the longer you can stay on the bull without being thrown off.

The Sims 2

  • Gym equipment: includes the treadmill and all the work benches. Using gym equipment decreases Hygiene and Energy quickly. Teens, adults and elders can use this equipment.
  • TV or stereo: if there's enough space, a Sim can work out in front of a TV or stereo.
  • Swimming also increases Body skill
  • Do yoga: has less effect on Hygiene and Energy.
  • Dance Sphere: Introduced in the Nightlife Expansion Pack, the Dance Sphere is fun but has a chance of throwing your Sim and making them dizzy.
  • Animations change as Body skill increases.
  • When a teen gains at least eight Body points, he or she is able to gain the Hogan Scholarship for Athletics (University only).

The Sims 3

In The Sims 3 there is a Athletic skill that is expected to be similar to the Body skill.
