The Martial Arts skill is a new skill introduced in The Sims 3 World Adventures, and will, like all other skills introduced in this expansion pack, have a trait that increase its effectiveness. The Athletic skill is not the only factor that determines a Sims chance to be victorious in a fight, as the training a Sim receives in martial arts is a new factor and seems to play a major role in fights. The skill level also determines how likely a Sim is of defeating a mummy in a fight, as a low level may cause a Sim to be afflicted with the mummy's curse, that will cause the death of the Sim after a set time. As in other skills, there will likely be abilities gained through training that will probably increase a Sim's probability of winning or of inflicting negative moodlets in the opponent

Learning the Art

Sims can train at the Phoniex Academy of Martial Arts in Shang Simla. However, Sims may purchase a training dummy, board breaker, and books to train at home. Sims get different colour belts at different levels, just as real martial arts does. Meditation is also required when learning the skill. Masters at meditating can teleport and summon natural elements to help them in their battles. Sims who have mastered the martial arts skill can teach other sims as well.
