My Want Slots & Locks

IME, this option on the "batbox" will also fix those cases in which a Sim should have more slots and locks, but doesn't. If a college graduate successfully invites a college Townie to move in, the Townie ages up and should be treated as a graduate. Usually, the Townie gets the extra slots and lock, but I have seen cases where that did not happen. Dharden (talk) 12:42, August 14, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Inappropriate use of Rollback

Okay. But it's not always easy to tell which uses are clearly inappropriate, and which can be used to revert sticky situations - partly due to reasons below.

I know for a fact that other admins have been known to revert edits that conflict with the ideal point of view. Such as Starmoonie's rollback on my IP's good faith edits to this page.

I've also seen Nikel23 revert good faith edits using the rollback tool, possibly to decrease the chances of other users noticing. I'm not sure, but yeah, I can make sure I use the undo button in future. Some editors obviously get the (which to use rollback: to revert the edit in one click and hide it from the recent wiki activity. Or undo: to revert the edit in two clicks with an edit summary and in full view on the recent wiki activity) back to front. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 11:03, August 22, 2014 (UTC)

Okay, sorry about that. I decided to cross most of it out, rather than removing it. But if you didn't think I should have edited that messages then that's okay. I will consult you before putting you jobless. I think it was just that you were potentially away from keyboard at the time, and for some reason I didn't want to wait.

As for reverting good faith edits, I can easily break the habit of using rollback on good faith edits instead of undo.

New terrain pages

Hi k6ka,

I was going to ask you this back on the seventeenth, but I had other things to do.

Since C.Syde asked me to talk to you after I asked the following question to him---I was just wondering if I can add new pages of the terrains in The Sims 2? You know in The Sims 2, when you are making a new neighborhood, university, downtown, etc. you can pick a number of terrains for that neighborhood. I was just asking if you can let me do that? Human vs Sim

I started the next battle myself, by copying the contents from the last three way battle and then replaced the information from Battle 9 with the information for Battle 100.

Unfortunately I somehow screwed the template up. But then just as I was two minutes away from fixing the template, ThePeculiarMe came along and copied the contents from your sandbox.

I just copied from an already existing template (the current one I copy from is located in one of my sandboxes), but re-signing it with four tildes.

Recommended DLC

First, thanks for the pointer to Cyjon's Less Trash Duty. Second, my experience with No Dancing in Silence is that it does not eliminate the autonomous "Dance on Toes" action when a stereo is not playing. It does appear to reduce it, but it still pops up. Cyjon's Non-Townie Outfits

I finally checked the Property Sets in the Floaties package against the ones for cubodysnorkel in the FFS skins package. There is no difference in the "flags" field, so I assume that it does not stop the floaties from spawning on child townies, it just stops them from spawning as Everyday wear. Despite being bold and all... have you considered whether it warrants its own page at all? While being bold is a very important nature that a user should develop, without consideration, some things would be... pointless. However, this is just my very own personal opinion. You should believe what you believe.

Anyway, back to the point... I still think it's unnecessary to create a whole individual page of each premade terrain. There's not much to tell. Compiling them all in one list on a page (neighborhood, perhaps?) seems more practical, though I still don't see the point, since we have a whole list in SimNation already. Sneak peek!

As you were a great help to me in writing the Revolution series so far, I thought it was only fitting that you got to have a little preview of the first chapter. It's a bit rough right now, but with your help I'm sure it'll be perfect (and a bit confronting)!

Here goes:

Ben Faulkner found himself surrounded by his teachers and classmates. Mr Rilkins, the gym teacher, the history teacher - they were all there. Miami, Alexander, and a lot of other kids. All of them in the same room. The students were sitting at their desks. Rilkins was writing on the board. The history teacher was spouting yet another sleep-inducing lecture. The gym teacher was shouting louder than he ever had before. Ben's fellow classmates were all studiously and meticulously reading and turning the page to read more. They wrote in their notebooks everything they could find.

Then the noise coming from the teachers suddenly ceased. Rilkins' attention shifted to Ben. The other teachers turned their eyes upon him as well, drilling holes into Ben's skull.

"Why aren't you taking notes, boy?" Rilkins screamed. "The Government does not like you!"

Ben could feel the intensity of Rilkins' rage. Then, the whole class stopped writing simultaneously. Ben's classmates heads all, at the same time, turned to stare at Ben. Everyone in the room had the same evil, sadistic smile on their face.

"The Government does not like you!" they chanted repeatedly. Their bodies began to morph and distort. The thirty-two people in the room contorted towards a singularity of darkness and despair. And from this rose the face of the President. Ben found himself petrified. Glued to his seat.

"THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT LIKE YOU!" the President furiously proclaimed. He opened his mouth in a loud mocking cackle. The contents of the room, desks, maps, walls and all, began to surge into the mouth of the President. Ben could feel himself being dragged into the maw of the monster that was before him. He was sucked into the black hole. Everything was dark…

Oh. :( Typo fixing is one of my favourite parts of having fanon pages. I actually intentionally leave a couple of mistakes in everything I write, to make sure they are not perfect, to motivate me want to improve them, whether it's layout of the page or whatever. Plus, it is a great way to improve my writing as well, to notice a pattern in them, because I identified the mistake, and figured out a way to correct it. About latest !P block

Hello, I've noticed you blocked the IP 50.136.149.237. I too have blocked this person on four different wikis due to chronic spamming and harassment since the start of the year. This also lead to a range block with a message that legitimate users under this IP range should sign-in or contact the Wikia admins to edit.

So to give a heads up, they also go under the IP 108.40. and will jump to different IPs to continue their behavior. -- Bunai82 ^(talk) 05:38, September 23, 2014 (UTC)

You are right. I don't know why I forgot to put in that as the type. Looking back, I think it was because there was one edit that I did revert that was more like vandalism, but you are right that since it was also on a fanon that it should have been fanon1. Problem on MTS?

This morning, whenever I try to access anything on MTS, I am redirected to their adult site, where I do not have access. (I was never interested.) Anyway, have you been noticing any problems today? I know that was a good faith constructive edit, which is why I didn't use rollback in the first place. I just wanted to show that I was reverting to the revision by Tiezel, but I guess I should have mentioned that I was doing so because Tiezel's revision was the most up to date. I just got a bit confused as to why an IP editor, regardless of experience would try to add an inter wiki link, and then removed it. I'm not very clear on why they removed it, because I'm not very clear on the importance of wiki links. I just thought that if they removed it, there must have been an unexplained explanation as to the reason why.

Also, could you please respond to my "whatever you call them (mistakes)" in a more positive light? I'm only trying to do what is best for the wiki, and if I fail to do that, there is most likely an explanation. Yes I see where I went wrong, and next time I will correct the error. If ever you see me do something which you think I could have done better, you are more than welcome to tell me and I will add the information to my "ropes" list on my user blog - which is what I use to help remind me not to make certain mistakes.

I happened to notice you reverted an edit to a revision by myself using popups. I wasn't sure how to do it, and because I didn't have popups, so yeah I was trying to restore a particular revision like that. Thumbnails

Hey, K6. In a few of our articles, including Cedric's and Miami's articles, the thumbnails in categories when one goes into exhibition mode displays the Revolution logo instead of their image, even though the image is technically below the main image (I understand that images at the top are in the running for thumbnail position). I noticed that this recently-created template contains many elements similar to the {{Sim}} template. However, I'm afraid that the name of these templates will confuse people with the templates normally used for the mainspace contents. I'm going to rename these templates by adding "Fanon" in front of it, e.g. FanonSimRev, FanonGetRevAffLink, FanonGetRevAffImage, etc. for the sake of clarity. Do you have anything in mind? Hey, K6! I have been out for a while, so I had no time to check what resulted from the discussion about the problem I brought to you last time we talked (about pt-br Sims Wiki giving the necessary credits when we copy and translate some of en Sims Wiki articles). I personally think that special:export would be an useful tool, but it seems that our newest contributors wouldn't be able to do such that thing, for it requires a higher edition knowledge level. So, once again, I'll go back to my original idea: could we simply add a template to the articles copied from you? It's easier for the users and for us, admins and old users, to do... Would you pass the idea to your community? I would do so, but I have been for so long without practising English that it's not easy to me to read and interpretate any more :/

I know that. However, I was pointing out that the issue was in the diff of that particular edit, which cannot be seen if the edit itself is deleted. Hi k6ka. Can you help fix all links from [[Sims]] to [[Sim]]s on either Category:Sims category or pages using {{Sim2}} and {{Simbio2}}? That link is constantly used in these pages, yet it's not a redirect page to Sim article. Someone insists on using redirects as the best solution instead of the direct link. I wonder why. RE: University hangout for Sims 3

While it's true that university hangout lot type exists in UL, the content of the page doesn't say the slightest about that particular lot. The way I see it, the editor wrote about collective hangout lots in UL (which provided many at once), i.e. nerd shop, rebel hangout, and arcade; but not the particular lot assignment "university hangout." Therefore, I still don't think it really warranted its own page, even if you moved it. Besides, what has to be written in university hangout lot had nothing to do with what had already been written, so if you improved it, it would be a complete rewrite anyway.
