Well, hello there, fellow Simmers. I am k6ka (Listen /ˈkeɪˈsɪksˈkeɪˈeɪ/), but some people abbreviate my username as "k6". Just don't call me "kaka" - that ticks me off.
Who am I? I am an administrator on The Sims Wiki, and I am also an administrator at The Last Stand Wiki and on the English Wikipedia. And if you think I reference Wikipedia too much when I speak, that's because I edit too much there.
I am a fairly big WikiHolic - I think about wikis during the day and dream about them at night. I am quite fluent with Wikitext - the thing that makes up Wikipedia and Wikia. I can't stand Visual Editor except for certain circumstances, such as editing a table. I just find source editor much easier, and I get more control over the outcome of the page. It also allows me to fix stuff that VisualEditor either can't fix, won't fix, or VisualEditor causes the problem in the first place. No, I didn't take a crash course or study all night to learn about Wikitext. I find that it just comes naturally the more you edit. And I edit a lot. By now I think you want to throw a wiki-egg at me for wiki-ing too much.
Tasks
I hesitated on this section since it makes me look like some sort of a bot. Note that I'm not limited to the tasks listed below. I can do more than this table can hold. I'm a human, not a bot. Bleep bloop! Oh whoops..
Patrol recent changes, correcting bad edits, deleting malicious pages, adding maintenance tags, and maintaining article quality.
Sign unsigned comments.
Adds {{Unsigned}} to unsigned comments on talk pages, as well as other pages that require signatures, such as the battles page. I typically add the unsigned template if I don't see a link to your userpage (if you use a template for your signature and it includes a link, I'll ignore it. I'm a human, not a bot) and a date and time stamp. Bots, admins, bureaucrats, and experienced users are ignored.
Revert vandalism.
You have an experienced vandal fighter on your side!
Correct Wikitext syntax, and modify to improve readability.
I might run AutoED on articles to clean up and fix syntax. I might also do it manually...
The majority of cases should be discussed publicly, though in rare circumstances, I allow users to email me privately. But first, read the following...
So, when can I email you?
You should generally use my talk page to contact me in the vast majority of cases. Email should only be used for certain circumstances where public communication may not be desirable or possible. Examples of when you can email me include:
You are currently blocked from editing and your ability to edit your talk page has been revoked. You can email me to request an unblock, or to inform me that you are an innocent editor that has been autoblocked.
There is a revision on a page that you want removed from public view, because it is extremely offensive, defamatory, or reveals personal information. In cases like these, do not post it publicly, as we don't want the Streisand effect to add fuel to the fire.
Other personal matters. However, keep in mind that this isn't a social networking site, so don't treat emails as casual private messages in which you can spam me.
If you are receiving death threats from someone else, do NOT email me. Contact Wikia Staff, and if needed, your local police.
To send me an email, please use this form. Thanks.
*I do not have the Ultimate Collection.
**I have the Steam version of the game.
Other links
I like photography as a hobby and pastime. My works are uploaded on Flickr and DeviantArt, and if they're good enough, they go on Commons too! I proudly license most of my photos under a Creative Commons license to allow for free reuse elsewhere.
I'm also a writer, having enjoyed writing from a young age, and I'm always trying to improve. I have a Wattpad page here of the stuff I've managed to be able to complete.
