The Scholar's Garden is a great place for Sims to seek peace, meditate, or skill up in Logic. It is located beside the Academy in Shang Simla, and it looks over the centre of town. There a several varieties of koi to catch here using the Fishing skill, and also plums and cherries for Sims to harvest.
