Pool is a community lot and a lot assignment in The Sims 3.
Pool lots attract Sims in a similar way to park and gym lots. Sims can improve their Athletic skill at these lots by swimming. It is not uncommon to witness Sims drowning at pools.
As a lot assignment pools provide the Lovely Pool moodlet
This provides a small +15 boost to the Sim's mood.
