RE: The person below you[edit source]

Oh yeah, that's right... Sorry, I don't usually checked twice for what I'm saying. I changed to probably, since sometimes I prejudice people because it's my thing. ThePeculiarMe | (talk to me) 5:34, May 9, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Battles[edit source]

Yep, just got on, took one look at Special:RecentChanges, saw you doing the battle nominations. I thought to myself, "Oh snap! Someone's stealing my job again!" and quickly rushed to do the archives. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 21:16, May 9, 2014 (UTC)

A few of your edits[edit source]

Could you please explain why exactly you blanked Talk:Gordon King? There was nothing on that talk page that was offensive in any way nor was there anything that actually needed to be blanked.

Also, could you please refrain from over-reactive edit summaries and telling users that you are going to report them. You're only giving them a reaction, which is exactly what they want and if they know that it's winding you up then they'll only continue. I know you're only trying to help and I appreciate that but you really need to tone it down a lot. If you catch somebody vandalising or whatever, leave them a templated warning and should they persist then report them and move on. Just remember to remain calm and don't go overboard with your emotions. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 12:33, May 10, 2014 (UTC)

Reply to your message[edit source]

Um.. I did read the pages ages ago. I'm not going to waste time uninstalling Sims 3, to reinstall Sim 2, to play two sims, then to uninstall it and reinstall sims 3 again, just to vote in a poll. WayfinderOwl (talk) 23:54, May 13, 2014 (UTC)

Unused accessories on aliens[edit source]

Why did you add unused accessories category to all aliens? I understand if you added it to pollination technicians, but why did you do that on Stella Terrano and birth queens? Nikel Talk Vote! 17:34, May 17, 2014 (UTC)

Everyone knows the alien skin tone is hidden from access, and it's not a mystery or a secret. It's hidden for a reason, because it's not part of a normal gameplay, but as an unlockable feature somehow. I don't think they're legitimate to be considered wearing unused accessories. When you think about it, what makes them as special as Irma Oldie and Romeo Monty? In Irma's case, the beehive hairdo only appears once, and it's not even in the game. In Romeo's case, he wears a beta-old hairstyle that's hidden somehow, and he's the only one to wear it. No one can tell what's the motive the developer made him wear that; probably a mistake or on purpose. But for the alien's case? They are indeed supposed to have the alien skin tone, and that doesn't make them strange. Anyone expects it, and won't really consider them to "wear unused accessories". Please note[edit source]

Please do not create user pages for unregistered users. User pages can be kept only by registered users. I said I was going to do the battles, 2 minutes after you made your comment in the chat. Guess you didn't wait long enough for a reply, especially considering I was busy playing during that time. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 21:36, May 23, 2014 (UTC)

Linking convention[edit source]

Just a heads-up, when you link something, remember that based on our Manual of Style, it's not necessary to begin every link with a capital letter. For example, try not to use Adult, Trait, Zombie, and Grocery. Instead, just use the regular wording adult, trait, zombie, and grocery. Only certain terms should really have capital, including, but not limited to:

I'm sure there are more examples, but I can't remember now. Other than these, all terms should be in lowercase. Nikel Talk Vote! 05:19, May 24, 2014 (UTC)

Welcome back![edit source]

Hi C.Syde! How are you today? The Wiki is normal as usual, with new users and more vandalized users, however, 5-3 days ago (I think) the bot has been faulty but now it's working. And ILS5 has been created another sockpuppet but the admins immediately blocked her sockpuppet. Oh and check out the blog by LiR if you haven't read it yet. :) ThePeculiarMe | (talk to me) 04:15, June 1, 2014 (UTC)

Your talk page archives[edit source]

Hello again, Sea Side - I mean, C.Syde. Your talk page archive, according to the page history, is over 80K bytes! Of course, the point of archiving is to compensate for users with slow Internet connections or on mobile devices. Eventually though, an archive page will be large enough to defeat the whole point of archiving.

So what we do is simply create another archive page. The procedure is the same as the one I explained to you before. The only difference is that, instead of the page being called User talk:C.Syde65/Archive 1, it would be called User talk:C.Syde65/Archive 2.

The archive template navbox would also be modified to include a link to the second archive page. For example:

<center></center>
<center>Archives</center>----

1 2

You can see an example on my Wikipedia talk page (archive template is on the right, scroll down a little bit and you'll see it). Once a different number archive is created, the old ones are left alone and are no longer modified.

On my Wikipedia talk page, I set the archive size limit at 70K bytes (An automated bot archives my talk page there for me), but it's up to you to decide what the cap should be. I would recommend something below 150K. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 01:25, June 9, 2014 (UTC)

The archive size limit is just a mental note, or you can add an HTML comment somewhere that'll remind you. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 23:06, June 12, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Which NPCs are safe to play as[edit source]

I didn't move it into the category for "dangerous Sims". I moved it into the "Safe but may have annoying behaviour". If you haven't had any problems, then I'll just move it appropriately. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 01:34, June 14, 2014 (UTC)

Even with "safe" NPCs, there may be a few glitches that pop up as the game might now clear the NPC flag correctly. Cyjon's debugger has an option that will correctly reset the NPC flag, so a maid that has been moved in will become a fully playable Sim and not an NPC.
Also, it is possible to move in some dangerous NPCs without cheats, such as the social worker. That's why you have to be careful. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 01:40, June 14, 2014 (UTC)
Go ahead and add it. It's getting late at night and I'm tired, not to mention it's Friday the 13th AND a full moon tonight. The entire article was copy and pasted from here, and that wiki is pretty picky on who gets to edit its pages. It's not useless, but a number of articles have errors in them, some of them neighborhood-corrupting! --k6ka (talk | contribs) 02:17, June 14, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Beta old hairstyle[edit source]

Well, when I mentioned that it was beta, it wasn't a claim or a fact. But I'm personally 100% certain that these hairstyles (Romeo's hairstyle and Gibs' hairstyle) are beta content. The textures are different with hairstyles that are in the release version. These hairstyles are ashen and washed-out, just like most beta hair textures. Try to compare these hair textures below.

It's actually more noticeable if you look at it in CAS by yourself. And if you compare the textures with the release version hairstyles, the textures are smoother and shinier. Nikel Talk Vote! 04:52, June 14, 2014 (UTC)

Forget how I describe it. In short, Romeo's and Gibs' hairstyles looks more like unused hairstyles instead of the release hairstyles, which is why I called them "beta hairstyles". Nikel Talk Vote! 06:31, June 14, 2014 (UTC)

A notice[edit source]

I removed your additions to User talk:Safe&Sound27. The issue regarding ILoveSims5 and her socks is a complicated on-going administrative concern, and it is best handled by the administrators themselves. Please do not get involved in ongoing administrative concerns, such as handling user unblocks. These matters are handled by administrators because only administrators can resolve user unblocks, and are not generally open to community input or involvement. If you feel this precedent should change, please consider starting a discussion on the community discussions forum.

By the way, for what it's worth, the odds of that user, or any of her other socks, getting unblocked is essentially zero. No amount of advice is going to help her. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 04:49, June 20, 2014 (UTC)

The issue here isn't about this particular user. The fact that she is beyond help is irrelevant. The whole point is that you're not in the position to help her because you're not an administrator. There's a reason user blocks are discussed on the Admin Portal Talk Page and not in the fourms; it's because these discussions aren't meant to be driven by community consensus. The discussions are intended for administrators to formulate a plan of action. In this case, our plan of action is to not give the user any more chances. When you, as a non-administrator, leave a message like you did, it undermines the actions that the administrators are taking to handle the situation. I believe your heart is in the right place and I believe you're trying to help, but as of right now you're in over your head. I am strongly advising you to stop getting involved in any further matters regarding ILoveSims5 or her sockpuppets. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 05:05, June 20, 2014 (UTC)
The thing you need to understand is that discussions about blocking or unblocking users are not community discussions. The administrators are the only people who can block and unblock other users, and they are the only people who can set the conditions under which a user can return to the wiki. Now, the community could establish criteria for the administrators to follow, and that indeed is what happened in Forum:Unblock system. But it is the job of the administrators alone to enforce those rules; there simply is no room for community involvement when it comes to deciding whether to block or unblock a specific user. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 05:25, June 20, 2014 (UTC)
@C.Syde65 What LiR said above. It was decided that ILS5 will have absolutely no chance of getting unblocked. Ever. Period. We've already given her all the chances she needed. If we become "too nice" and give her virtually infinite chances, this madness will not end. Even if she's 13 years old and becomes "mature enough not to ignore all the advice we give her", she's not coming back. Essentially, this is a permanent, irremovable ban. Her privilege to be an editor on The Sims Wiki is gone forever. All she can do now is read the articles, which cannot be revoked and we will not revoke, because that isn't an issue at all. If you're asking that we give her a second chance... well, we already did. That was her ticket on board R.M.S. The Sims Wiki, and she threw it away. We're not printing another ticket for her. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 12:53, June 20, 2014 (UTC)

I never said that you should become "too nice". If anything, I'm quite pleased that you're not. If she didn't see that coming, well that's just too bad for her. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 07:11, June 23, 2014 (UTC)

Premade Sims fanons[edit source]

Before I tell you, I want to apologize. I should have told you much earlier fanons based on premade Sims have their own naming convention. They all should be titled "Fanon:<Sim Name> (Username)", or replace the username with anything that makes it unique from other fanons. The problem is that there are always possibilities that other users would create fanons based on the same premade Sim.

Again, I'm sorry for not telling you earlier. For what it's worth, you can do this for your future fanons. Your fanons would be renamed eventually. But since you have a lot of fanons, I think it would be done periodically. You can rename them yourself if you want to too. No need to hurry though. Nikel Talk Vote! 15:45, June 20, 2014 (UTC)

Ah, sorry for such a late reply. Let's just say, you should rename Fanon:Bella Goth to Fanon:Bella Goth (C.Syde65), and all's done. I might ask LiR to let his bot do this, but currently I'm very busy and I'm not yet sure what to rename and what not to rename. But at least you know the idea, and that's what's important for now. No, the proposal was to remove the anti-vandalism requirements from the Request for Rollback process. New applicants for rollback status no longer have to demonstrate a history of combating vandalism. Re: Questions[edit source]

 1. No, a bureaucrat cannot remove another user's bureaucrat flags; only Wikia Staff can do that. However, a bureaucrat could remove another bureaucrat's sysop flags, but that would be pointless because the other bureaucrat could just add them back without difficulty.
 2. Yes, sysops can block anyone (including themselves). But, bureaucrats also have access to the block tool even if they're blocked, so it would only take them a few seconds to unblock themselves. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 17:45, June 26, 2014 (UTC)

I wanted to apologize for what I said earlier today. I didn't mean to be mad at you, so I'm really sorry about that. I felt a bit tense and bitter today and it was my mistake to bring it along here. Please don't take my point wrong. Indentation makes it easier to read, but it's optional. Nice to meet you[edit source]

Hi C.Syde65,

I'm coastercam7788 aka Jakob. It's nice to meet you. I'm sort of new to The Sims Wiki, and I'm kind of a rookie on Wikia. I started playing The Sims 2 in about 2007 or 2008, but the very first Sims game I ever played was The Sims for the Nintendo GameCube. So, anyways, is it okay if I start making new pages about the music in The Sims 2? I really love the music, and I can't believe some of it was composed by Mark Mothersbaugh! (Did you know he was in the band Devo?) Anyways, is it okay if I can do pages about every song in The Sims 2? Thanks.

P.S. Since I'm almost in my mid-teens, I'm probably the youngest editor on The Sims Wiki!

Inappropriate use of rollback[edit source]

I just wanted to bring to the table that the following is what I would consider a mis-use of rollback, which is only used to revert changes whose reason for reverting is absolutely clear. It's never used to revert good faith changes.

[1] [2] [3]

For the last one, especially. The edit was 1. Made by a highly trusted, experienced, long-time user and former administrator and was also explained with an edit summary. If you disagree, you do not use rollback. It says so at The Sims Wiki:Rollback:

This tool should only be used for reverting edits that are clearly vandalism, and any possible good faith edits should be reverted with the undo button. This is done so that the user reverting can explain why they are reverting the edit, for the benefit of both the original editor and any other users looking through the article's history, using rollback suggests that the user made a blatant bad faith edit, hence no edit summary is needed.

If you are in doubt, consider tagging the addition with Fact or Clarify, or talk with the user who made the edit at their talk page. If you do believe a revert is necessary, don't use rollback and use undo instead. That way you can leave an edit summary that can explain the revert. An explanation sometimes is all that's needed to stop an edit war from happening.

Also, try not to revert edits that clearly have no point in reverting. If a user edits a page, but then changes their mind and removes it, so the final result is just an extra space added to a template that doesn't change the output of the article at all, there is no need to revert their edit because it won't accomplish anything, other than wasted server space. And especially don't use rollback - it can cause misunderstandings and can potentially scare away newcomers.

--k6ka (talk | contribs) 10:30, August 22, 2014 (UTC)

If the other admins/rollbackers mis-use rollback, I'll talk to them and let them know of the issue. You can do that yourself as well, if you feel that there is a need to start a discussion. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 11:08, August 22, 2014 (UTC)

Welcoming users[edit source]

I have no idea how you are welcoming IP users, but just wanted to let you know that you just add to the IP's talk page, instead of copy and pasting the template code itself (according to the automatically generated edit summary), which looks pretty tedious and annoying. The "subst:" part substitutes the template, automatically transferring the template's contents onto the target page. Same goes with Welcome for registered users. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 01:48, September 1, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Bellhops[edit source]

Nope, bellhops cannot be made playable without the use of cheats. Heck, your Sims can't build a relationship with them normally. The only way I've seen the normal "Flirt" options on the bellhop was after a game reset (caused by installing certain mods, though it also resets if you install a new expansion pack or patch) while a Sim was on vacation, and that hood was long corrupted anyway. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 11:16, September 5, 2014 (UTC)

Happy Birthday[edit source]

Happy belated birthday, C.Syde! ^_^ Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 23:17, September 14, 2014 (UTC)

A Birthday cake for you!
Sorry for the belated birthday greeting, but the cake is still fresh! *lights candle* Are you 19? Happy 19! Uhh.. uh oh! *accidentally fumbles and drops the cake* Um... happy 19th.... *flashes a weak smile before running away* --k6ka (talk | contribs) 23:22, September 14, 2014 (UTC)
Sorry for being late but happy birthday anyway! Joey.eyeball (talk) 06:55, September 15, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks to all of you! :) 19 years old? -- that's correct. *Resurrects cake* I think I'll remove the candles from that cake -- as I've still got a year before I transition to the Young adult stage. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 05:45, September 16, 2014 (UTC)

Renaming tip[edit source]

When you move a page, there's an option "Leave a redirect behind - Editing "What links here" is better than using redirects." If you untick it, the page will be moved without a redirect, so the old page is automatically deleted—which is rather handy so you don't need to bother requesting in the admin's noticeboard. However, keep in mind that not all redirects should be deleted. The old page might be linked from many other pages, and deleting the redirect will leave all these pages to link to a deleted page. This means that there are some pages whose redirects should be kept (e.g. moving skills to skill).

You still need to ask an admin's permission to rename a file, though. Nikel Talk Vote! 11:02, September 16, 2014 (UTC)

Actually, only administrators have this option. Non-admins must manually tag the redirect for deletion. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 11:07, September 16, 2014 (UTC)
Guess who just figured it out recently! Sorry then. :p Nikel Talk Vote! 11:14, September 16, 2014 (UTC)
Come to think of it... Non-admins can't delete a page in the first place. No wonder the option isn't there. Ugh, I'm so silly. Nikel Talk Vote! 11:57, September 16, 2014 (UTC)
@ Nikel23 - I am aware that not all re-directs should be deleted (I learned that a few weeks ago). I tracked down all the links and re-linked them to the new page title before leaving a message on the administrator's noticeboard. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 05:50, September 17, 2014 (UTC)
Well actually in this particular case, I wouldn't have had to ask for an admin's permission to have the file moved, as it was supposed to be named "Tyson Davison" in the first place. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:23, September 17, 2014 (UTC)
Actually, you would, because only admins can rename file pages. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 10:30, September 17, 2014 (UTC)
I'd have to ask for them to rename the file page yes, but I wouldn't have to ask whether it was okay, considering that that was his actual last name in the first place. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 10:50, September 17, 2014 (UTC)

Me on chat[edit source]

Just wanted to let you know that if you see me on chat but I don't respond, it usually means I'm busy but still at the keyboard (unless I specifically announced it earlier). I have chat hacks installed, so you can ping me by typing "K6ka", "K6", "Hello", or "Hey". Pinging me draws my attention to the chat room so I can respond. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 22:00, September 20, 2014 (UTC)

True, I was just lurking, to see if you (or someone else if they were there) were doing anything. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 22:04, September 20, 2014 (UTC)

Kaylynn Langerak Memories[edit source]

You know how you did those possible memories for Bella Goth here, well could you maybe do the same for Kaylynn Langerak in The Sims 2 if it wasn't any trouble? So say if you added her to the Pleasant family as soon as you started the game, and she had the proper memories that relate to Don's and Daniel's instead of those CAS ones. I would really appreciate it if you did it but I won't mind if you can't for any possible reasons. Joey.eyeball (talk) 05:52, September 25, 2014 (UTC)

File licensing[edit source]

It might not have been your intention but you broke the file description pages for a lot of files. I had to run my bot to clean up after you.

There's a quirk with our quick license system, in that it says "This file is licensed" only if it finds "==Licensing==" on the page. Many images do not have "==Licensing==" but they do have a licensing template, so do not use the quick license drop-down menu or you'll end up with duplicate licenses. Also, some file descriptions used the simple Copyright by EA template and manually added in the categories. Instead of slapping <sim2> right under it, you can remove the old template and redundant category because the "|sim2" parameter automatically adds them. --I am k6ka Talk to me! Reverting edit to sandbox[edit source]

Why, exactly, did you revert my edits to the Sandbox? -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 02:37, October 4, 2014 (UTC)

I understand it's the sandbox, but you know how rollback works. Why then are you still doing pointless rollbacks like this one? --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 02:38, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
It was a long line of edits, and I just wanted to do a rollback test. If you think it's unnecessary, I won't do it again. But it was the sandbox and it does say "not changing any serious content". If that doesn't mean that I should do rollback tests then that's alright. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 02:43, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
I don't see the point of a "rollback test" when 1. You know how rollback works, 2. You know someone's currently using the sandbox so you probably don't want to deliberately get into an edit conflict with them, and 3. You've already done multiple rollback tests in the sandbox!
Rollback is a tool. Don't misuse tools. Don't use them recklessly, even in a "sandbox". If you want to play with rollback, you're welcome to do it on your own test wiki where nobody else would care. But not while other people are using it, and especially not to randomly revert people's edits without explanation, and then undo your rollback with "it had to be done". What had to be done? Wasted server space? Or hurt feelings? Even in a sandbox I'd call this inappropriate use of rollback. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 02:47, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
I agree. Rollback rights are given to users who will use them responsibly. What you did does not demonstrate responsible usage. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 03:09, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
That's okay. I have to admit I was being reckless, especially with the risk of "edit conflict". Note to self: only perform rollback on your own edits, or rather, only use rollback on test wikis. :) -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 03:46, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
I think this sums it up pretty well:
Standard rollback is a fast way of undoing problematic edits, but it has the disadvantage that only a generic edit summary is generated, with no explanation of the reason for the change. For this reason, it is considered inappropriate to use it in situations where an explanatory edit summary would normally be expected. Rollback may be used:
 • To revert obvious vandalism and other edits where the reason for reverting is absolutely clear
 • To revert edits in your own user space
 • To revert edits that you have made (for example, edits that you accidentally made)
 • To revert edits by banned users who are not allowed to edit (but be prepared to explain this use of rollback when asked to)
 • To revert widespread edits (by a misguided editor or malfunctioning bot) which are judged to be unhelpful to the encyclopedia, provided that an explanation is supplied in an appropriate location, such as at the relevant talk page[1]
Use of standard rollback for any other purposes – such as reverting good-faith changes which you happen to disagree with – is likely to be considered misuse of the tool. When in doubt, use another method of reversion and supply an edit summary to explain your reasoning.
Please familiarize yourself with these rules. - LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 04:02, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
If there's one thing that slipped out of my mind, or never entered my mind, it must have been that. Well at least I've familiarized myself with those rules, especially given the risk of "edit conflicts" which I totally underestimated the seriousness that other take when edit conflicts happen. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 04:06, October 4, 2014 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Please do not archive messages so early. Other people may have things to say. Wait at least a few days (maybe a week) before archiving messages. Archiving messages within hours of them being made may make a bad impression on people that you want to remove their messages from sight as quickly as possible, not "archiving to prevent the talk page from getting too long".

I wouldn't say you've familiarized yourself with the rules of rollback just yet, because of what you just did. But we've been here before about inappropriate rollback, and that was almost a month ago. Maybe it's time for you to stop and re-read the rules carefully, taking notes if you have to. Simply skimming over text is not "familiarizing".

Also, it's always important to recognize the importance of trying to avoid edit conflicts when possible. Edit conflicts do and can happen and sometimes they're unavoidable - how are you supposed to know that someone else was editing the same talk page/article as you were? But if you see someone making fresh edits in the sandbox, unless they stop editing for hours on end, assume they're still using it. If you need to use the sandbox, either use your own personal sandbox in your userspace or use a different section of the sandbox that won't trigger an edit conflict. If you see someone editing the sandbox and you rush in to edit their work and deliberately get them into an edit conflict, it won't leave a good impression on you. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 11:02, October 4, 2014 (UTC)

Alright. Sorry I archived it so early. It's just that the second archive hasn't been what I like to call quite finished. Also I wasn't sure that this thread was still active which is why I closed it so early.
As for familiarizing, I guess I should do more than just skim over text. But now that I've understood the seriousness of edit conflicts etc. I can change that particular pattern. Skimming over text has worked for me sometimes, but maybe not this time. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 20:18, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
Alright. Sorry I archived it so early. It's just that the second archive hasn't been what I like to call quite finished.
Huh? I don't think it matters at all whether an archive is "finished" or not. Archives are built up slowly over time, not in one day. At least that's how I see it. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 22:54, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
I know an archive isn't built up in one day. I'll be waiting until I receive some more messages before I add them to the second archive. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:21, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
If you look at my Wikipedia talk page, I set the archive bot to only archive discussions after 10 days. However the length of when discussions can be archived depends on how busy the discussion page is. On Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents page, sections are archived after being unanswered for just 36 hours, but only because the page is extremely busy. But even 36 hours is longer than the 2 hours here. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 23:33, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
I've familiarized myself with the majority of the rules of the rollback tool. That was obviously the, or part of the minority of the rules that I hadn't familiarized myself with. I'd familiarized myself with this part "Not perform rollback on good faith edits", but not this part "Not perform rollback on good faith edits even in the sandbox". I've added that rope to my user blog. One can't always count on a user blog to help jog their memory, but I feel that I'd be remiss if I didn't. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 05:38, October 5, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Reverted message[edit source]

Please read the text on Talkheader before adding new messages to talk pages. Your message was removed because it doesn't belong on that page. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 21:57, October 8, 2014 (UTC)

Making an observation is not the same as starting a discussion on improving the article. Talk pages are for improvements to the article only. You've made almost 10,000 edits to the wiki; I shouldn't have to be telling you this. - LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 22:04, October 8, 2014 (UTC)
"The truth is that lots of other people have done it in the past." That doesn't excuse it in the least. You've been on the wiki for several months, you've had thousands of edits, you're a rollbacker and have applied for adminship... this is a basic rule and something you should already know. - LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 22:36, October 8, 2014 (UTC)

King Raymundo Rodiekhkare[edit source]

The edit made to King Raymundo Rodiekhkare here was an attempt by a new user to add an interwiki link to one of our language wikis. They were initially confused and didn't succeed at first. They then tried to revert their own edit but accidentally removed the existing interwiki link as well. Now while you didn't use rollback, you still reverted without explanation, which has the same destructive effects as using rollback on a good faith edit. I have fixed the interwiki link here. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 10:55, October 9, 2014 (UTC)

I just wanted to show that I was reverting to the revision by Tiezel, but I guess I should have mentioned that I was doing so because Tiezel's revision was the most up to date. Rollback does the first part too. Saying "rv to last version by User A" when you're reverting all consecutive edits made by one user is the same as clicking rollback, which will read "Reverted edits by User B (talk | block) to last version by User A". Also, the second part... what? "Most up to date"? That makes zero sense - the IP was trying to add an interwiki link. In short, the page was in fact outdated and they were trying to update it. Instead of reverting you should've just corrected the simple error. When in doubt, reverting may not be the best option. And yes, we are both aware that the IP had accidentally removed the interwiki link, but they were originally trying to add a new one. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 20:34, October 9, 2014 (UTC)
Interwiki links connect our wiki with our other language wikis. See Help:Interwiki links for what they're all about. Interwiki links appear at the bottom of the article and point to other language wikis. This is useful for readers that speak a different language.
I apologize if I appear to write in an irritated tone, but the truth is I am getting quite annoyed what with your unexplained reverts, rollbacks, super-early archiving, an irrelevant talk page discussion as mentioned in the discussion above, and silently removing a notice from your talk page without archiving. You have almost 10,000 edits and you should be observing a much higher standard of conduct in not just your edits but your general behavior as well. --I am k6ka Talk to me!
