Seasons
The new life state introduced in the Expansion Pack is Bigfoot. Bigfoot lives in the Hidden Burrow, a secret lot located in Three Lakes. Sims must have a secret map to find the Hidden Burrow and Bigfoot. A Bigfoot can be made playable by befriending them and proposing them to move in. Then, another Bigfoot will take over the Hidden Burrow. Bigfoots have already mastered all skills and talent badges. They can't do any romantic interactions, so Bigfoots cannot have Romance, Family, or Pleasure Aspirations.
Weather
Season is now the part of gameplay. Seasons can be set individually for each neighborhood from Season Chooser. The Season Chooser determines what seasons is allowed to be present in the neighborhood. There are 4 seasons; Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Each season has its own benefit and uniqueness, nourishing the gameplay and storyline.

Weather
Weather adds more realism as an occurrence of precipitation. Weather also determines whether the outdoor is cool, warm, too hot, or too cold. The precipitation also occurs unpredictably, making every day is not the same day. Is it safe enough to play when there's no hail outside, or are the crops not overwatered by the recent rainstorms; all is controlled by the weather. Sims can check the weather forecasting from TV or newspaper. When the weather is too cold, Sims wear new type of clothes, Winterwear.

Temperature
There are 2 kinds of temperature; Sims' internal temperature and outdoor temperature. The outdoor temperature controls how fast Sims' internal temperature will change whether they are doing interactions or not. Unlike outdoor temperature, Sim internal temperature is different from each Sim. Sims who are too cold from playing snow can get freezing and Sims who are too hot from drinking hot chocolate in the middle of the Summer can get sunburn and heatstroke.

Gardening
Sims can now do real gardening. Fertilize plots, plant crops, water plants, tend garden, and finally, harvest the fruit. Gardening no longer only pulling the weeds and cutting the hedges. Gardening is also a way to earn money. As a reward of the hard work, Sims may join the Garden Club and earn the benefits. Harvested fruit can also be sold out or made juices.

Fishing
With Seasons, ponds are now stocked with fish. Sims can fish if the pond is big and deep enough, and the slope isn't too steep. Sims also gain Fishing Talent Badge when they fish long enough. Fish can be cooked, grilled, stocked in the fridge, or hung on the wall.

PlantSim
PlantSim
The new life state introduced in the Expansion Pack is PlantSim. PlantSim is half-Sim and half-plant. As PlantSims, Sims require water, sunlight, and love as their needs. PlantSim is a gardening master, making them acquire Gold Gardening Badge. They can talk to plants, respectively. PlantSim can spawn spore baby instead of being pregnant and give birth a normal baby. Spawned PlantBaby will eventually grow up into PlantSim.

New Additions

Minor Features

 • Tree leaves will fall on Autumn and needs to be raked. Conifers and cacti won't have falling leaves.
 • Set hairstyle per outfit[3]. Sims can now set different hairstyles each for everyday outfit through winterwear.
 • Pets don't have internal temperature.
 • Stackable inventory[3]. Inventory no longer needs to be scrolled all the way back just to find an apple. With this, same objects will be stacked in the inventory to save the space.
 • Pool water reflects and moves.[2]

New Build Mode Additions

 • Roof

Roof is now a crucial element as part of weather and climate changes. From now, "Indoor Space" is defined not only a room covered by walls, but there also must be roof. Being in a closed indoor will keep Sims away from cold temperature. Roof keeps the elements out, so rain and snow won't get inside house.

 • Roof Objects[3]

Any one-tile objects can now be placed on the roof. Anything; sculptures, chairs, flamingos, end tables, and even arcade machines. With this, decorative roof objects such as weather vane, lightning rod, and solar screen[TS2:MGS] can make a nice additions to the roof.

New Objects

New Interactions

Object-based

 • Sims can pay all bills without having to look for them first. This is useful when the bills are placed somewhere uncharted.[3]
 • Sims can store leftovers to the fridge so they wouldn't waste the food.[3]
 • There are many interactions that can be done with snow, including making snowmen, snow angles, snowball fights, and so on.
 • Toddlers and dogs can eat snow.
 • Cat can chase butterflies.
